I went out to see Noxagt the other night. I was really excited. But they don’t have the fiddle in the band anymore. They were still good, but i just didn’t really care any more.
What was good though was the band that played before them. Tree Creature is from Atlanta, and they make pretty music with a couple of keyboards and a pile of pedals and twisty nob things. (they also have a light show). They are very loud. The kind of loud that feels like a big hug, a big hug that starts to squeeze the shit out of you.
Imagine if Brian Eno and Philip Glass sat down with Boards of Canada and asked “is this what you were trying to do?”
Now stop imagining and listen to it.
